A Wall Remembered

Medium: Pigment, plaster, and binder on canvas
42” x 72”

A Wall Remembered continues Studio Parisotto + Samad’s exploration of material as a vessel for time and atmosphere. The surface—layered in plaster, pigment, and quiet abrasion—records the gestures of its making and the slow accumulation of change. What first appears as a neutral field reveals delicate tonal shifts, traces of moisture, and the imperfect choreography of process.

Rather than depicting space, the work becomes space itself—an artifact of touch and restraint. Its palette of greys, pale earth, and mineral hues evokes both the permanence of stone and the fragility of dust. In this ambiguity between construction and erosion, A Wall Remembered invites reflection on how form endures through transformation, and how the built surface holds its own memory of light, weather, and time.

Studio Parisotto + Samad create sculptural wall works and spatial compositions that merge art and architecture. Presented at Art Toronto 2025, this relief piece explores rhythm, light, and material depth — bridging the boundary between object and surface. Each work is conceived to live within interior environments, from hospitality to residential settings, where it can act as both artwork and atmosphere. The studio collaborates with art consultants, procurement teams, and designers to develop commissioned pieces that are responsive to site, scale, and emotion. Their approach reflects a commitment to material experimentation and contemporary craftsmanship, positioning their works within a growing dialogue between art, design, and collectibility.
